Ever since I was a 16 year old wannabe Rocker playing in garages and basements in the suburbs of Detroit in the mid 70's, I have been fascinated by Electric Guitars. Every guitar had it's own sound and feel. But as time passed I got tired of what the "corporate factories" forced on us Guitarists. And in order to get a guitar to play and sound the way you wanted it to, you had to change things, replace parts, have a tech work on it to get it to play right. One day I thought, why can't someone build you the guitar you want from day one...you choose the pickups...tuners...type of wood...fret size...you name it!!! And that's when G'Zan Custom Guitars was born.
In a small workshop out back of my home in Columbia, Tennessee, I build the guitar of your dreams. From creating a custom body out of a blank, or making you a special, one-of-a-kind take of a "classic" design, G'Zan Custom Guitars can handle any idea you might have. I have an OSHA approved paint spray booth and can custom mix any color you desire. All of my finishes are Nitrocellulose Lacquer, for that "classic" tone and finish. I get necks "in the rough" and do the fretwork, final heel shaping, headstock shape, and finishing myself to YOUR specs!!! My necks are finished in hand-rubbed Tung oil , nine coats, and then de-glossed, for a smooth, fast, feel of "bare wood"....if you ever suffered from sticky necks, you'll be delighted to play a G'Zan!!!
I have been a guitarist for 40 years, doing my own repairs and set ups. I have a degree in Electronics Engineering Technology from National Institute of Technology in East Detroit, Michigan. I am also a Certified Electric Guitar Technician by Carvin Guitars. I have been building and repairing Electric Guitars and Basses as well as amps and accessories since 2007.
